What is a Mobile Clinic?
It is a week long volunteering initiative in Ecuador or Peru. McGill students work closely with a team of local doctors and community liaisons to set up and facilitate a clinic in a rural community. Students have the opportunity to shadow local general practitioners and dentists, work on MEDLIFE’s healthcare-related educational initiatives, help run a pharmacy, and much more. It’s a great opportunity for anyone interested health, education, or development! More information here.
What is the Trip for Development?
Since 2010, the MEDLIFE Development Projects have been providing poor communities in Peru and Ecuador with much-needed infrastructure improvements. From community staircases and bathrooms to schools and potable-water systems, MEDLIFE listens to the community, and works with them to raise their quality of life. The Trip for Development is a 1-2 week trip for students to take on a major role in the start to finish of a complete project. Find out more here.
